My fiancé bought my ring from Ken and Dana Designs and I am OBSESSED. It is everything I could have ever dreamed of and I am so so happy he went here to get it!! Highly highly recommend. His sales woman, Morgan, was absolutely amazing in helping him design the perfect engagement ring
Incredible experience picking out my engagement ring at Ken and Dana in 2022 and now having a band to match as well after getting married in October! I get compliments every. single. day. Thanks KDD!
Ken & Dana Design is an incredible place to design the perfect jewelry for yourself, your spouse, or soon-to-be spouse. I have worked with them for both an engagement ring and a wedding ring for my wife and each time they were patient and thoughtful as they helped bring forth various stones to find the right one for us. I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out.
I saw the ring on instagram and immediately knew it’s the one I wanted. I looked for a long time at rings trying to find one to replace my original ring and Ken and Dana design had the most amazing options for someone wanting something outside of the normal rings everyone has. Their customer service was top notch, very thorough, and I’m even more impressed by the packaging and thoughtfulness of the contents for the ring arrival. It included everything I would need to know for my new ring and future care. The ring arrived in the specified window and was perfect! So thankful for the amazing individuals that are at Ken & Dana Design!
When my fiancé and I started talking about engagement rings, I told him I wanted the ring to come from him (I wanted him to choose what he liked), but I wanted something unique. I said that if we were to take a sample of 500 engagement rings that were just given out to newly engaged people, and we threw them all in a pile, I'd want to be able to pick mine out right away. He opted for the most insanely beautiful ring from KDD - the Rachael pear engagement ring in rose gold. I literally get stopped by random people no matter where I am, no matter what I'm doing - whether I'm grocery shopping with a messy bun in my hair, at a doctor's appointment, at the diner, or even at work, I always get "Oh my goodness, I normally never say this, but wow, your ring is just stunning - can I take a closer look? Where is it from?" - it makes my fiancé so happy and proud lol. KDD answered our questions (and I had a lot of them) and they were so pleasant to work with. Not to mention, they were timely with their responses and delivered us not 1, but 2 amazing rings. I just picked up my custom Laxmie wedding band - the width of the band matches my Rachael engagement setting and sits perfectly beneath it. I am in absolute awe and I can't believe I have to wait until next year to wear the entire set together (my only complaint). Thanks to Morgan, Nati, Jett, and others at KDD for taking such amazing care and for giving me the unique rings of my dreams - I barely even wear jewelry but you've given me the gift of feeling excited to wear these for the rest of my life. THANK YOU!
So overall this place is amazing overall I would absolutely recommend but it’s not without it’s quirks
Pros: everyone can see it, this place has a unique flair for the tasteful & elegant one of a kind nature inspired whimsically brilliant enchanted piece we all are longing for when searching for an amazing piece for the woman we love. Each detail groomed over and obsessed about to create something truly fantastic and unique
(Ken and Dana if you want me to write for you hit me up LOL)
Honestly, I looked at thousands of rings and dozens of jewelers and this one easily stood out.
The cons: almost all of the cons are related to (in my opinion) being a smaller jewelry shop. When compared to the positives they are nothing; but they are worth mentioning:
- Time: it took 4-5 weeks for my piece to be finished and shipped using one of their settings and a stone purchased with them. Not terrible honestly- but maybe slower than other shops and maybe a problem if you’re in a rush
- The follow up: probably the most painful of it all. I would often have to send 2-3 emails over 2-3 days consecutively in a week or else they would almost forget about me- or at least it felt that way. That kind of sucked. Again I think it’s related to them being smaller sized and truly busy..
Also I think if they are going to list a diamond as “stocked” on their site they should have videos in natural lighting to see your actual stone without having to be there in person. Other shops had support personnel able to show me the exact stones I wanted to see, FaceTime in real lighting- that was an awesome feature this shop could add if they were trying to get better.
- The website: to put it simply, it’s a bit inconsistent- some settings have great zoomed in views from all angles other settings not so much. When you’re spending thousands on a piece of jewelry I know me and most here want to know exaccctttllyyy what we’re getting. Website advice: zoom in, slow mo that ish, make it nasty, every angle and perspective- give the people what they want!!
Overall tho, the piece is spectacular and these videos don’t do it justice (inside dim lighting etc etc) but here it is Jody setting platinum over 3 carat BOOYA for your eyes to enjoy. Give them a chance and be patient, you’ll be so glad you did.
Ps. My wife is absolutely obsessed and has said repeatedly it’s the most beautiful ring and setting she has ever seen. Maybe a smidge of bias ;)
Cheers Ken and Dana! Thank you for creating an amazing gem that will likely be passed down for generations in the Brunner name!!
I found this store online but I guess there's a store in New York. Wish we could have visited the store, but alas, I just had to order online. They have an enormous selection of very unique rings. I'm in love with the nature inspired rings. I ordered one as a wedding band, and my engagement ring was the Bridgette. It is a fantastic low profile ring perfect for an active life style and still very pretty. They were able to customize it so i could choose pale yellow diamonds for the band and upsize the center diamond. Pictures don't do it justice. My fiance ordered the Belkin. It's almost identical to one he saw at Tiffany's except less expensive, wider (which he likes better), and with customization options. He was able to choose platinum and also swap the diamond out for a salt and pepper diamond. The sales person was so helpful, sending pictures of different diamonds, and answering all of our endless questions. I am very pleased with my ring, and our experience here. Can't wait to see my fiance's ring.
First and foremost, the ring is beautiful. It is even better than I could have imagined. Ariel was the perfect person to make it all happen. She was so kind, thoughtful and professional. She even sized my fiancé even though he was not in the market for a ring at the time. It was very sweet of her.
The design process was fun and easy since she and the team really understood exactly what I wanted even if I didn't have the technical words or design background to express it. I couldn't be happier with how the ring turned out. She was so patient and supportive as I tried on easily 10 or more rings at the time. We are beyond happy that we could use designs they had or create our own. The whole process took only a month or two because we settled very quickly on this simple and beautiful design and stone.
For those curious, we have the Permelia setting with a 2.06 carat pear shaped diamond in the center. It is in 14K yellow gold and the ring size is 4.25. My fiancé picked this diamond from a whole collection that K&D provided for us. You can truly customize it all! If I had to do it again or a friend needed a spot, I would immediately send them Ariel's way.
